Should You Play Traverse?
Last Updated on June 28, 2016 by Cassie Lyons
The Traverse Board Game is a lassic strategy game that combines the parts of chess and Chinese checkers. There are 4 different shapes (circle, square, triangle, diamond) and each shape with its own rules for moving around the board. Challenges spatial reasoning and strategic thinking skills as players attempt to be the first to cross the board and win. It is the perfect family game for beginners to advanced players. Players can jump, slide, and maneuver their way around the board.
Traverse is played on a checkered board similar to a chess board. A circle can move in any direction, while a square can just move horizontally or vertically, but not diagonally. In this game, you can slide, jump and zig-zag your way to the goal line. It is a fun strategic game and it always feels good to out-think your opponent! This game has been a family favorite for 20 years.
The Positives
Customers that left reviews liked the fact that you could play a game in only 15-20 minutes. They also liked that you could make the game more difficult depending on how many players you have and their age.
The Negatives
Some felt that the game was not challenging enough with just 2 players and that the game wasn’t as rewarding due to having no kill/capture aspect, unlike in Chess.
So What’s The Scoop?
The Traverse Board Game has been a game in family households for 20 years and is made for all ages. Have family fun night this weekend with Traverse and see just how strategic members in your family can be.
