BareMinerals Blemish Remedy is a powder foundation meant for those with oily skin who are prone to acne and redness. Finally a great foundation- just for us! This powder comes in 12 shades and has buildable coverage. It applies just like any other BareMinerals loose powder foundation; however, it has a slightly different container. Much like Tarte’s Amazonian Clay Powder Foundation, the Blemish Remedy powder is inside a round container that has an opening that is covered in netting for you to use a thick round brush- like a kabuki- to bounce a bit of product from the netting onto and then tap off excess of the edge of the container. I actually like this method better than the simple loose powder in the sifter like container that you tap off into the lid then grab with your brush and tap off excess.

The Positives
This product isn’t just a name. It actually contains aspen bark and tea tree oil to help heal acne as it’s worn. Aspen bark has been used for centuries as a remedy for burns and eczema. It’s been used for these purposes due to the proven calming, healing, and pain relieving benefits, and its anti-inflammatory properties. Tea tree oil is also proven in assisting in the healing and prevention of acne lesions. Although not a miracle product, tea tree oil is far gentler on acne prone skin than most other compounds like benzoyl peroxide. This is something that needs to be seriously considered when dealing with acne prone skin due to the fact that we are also prone to skin sensitivity and that irritation tends to increase our breakouts. There are also only a small handful of other ingredients in the product, which means less irritation to your pores.
