Garden Cultivator With An Electric Motor That Is Easy To Operate
Last Updated on January 12, 2020 by Cassie Lyons
Gardening can be one of the most challenging and rewarding past times for any individual to pursue. All that time spent crawling around on your knees in the dirt with the sun beating down on your neck can turn some people off from gardening. Then there is the weeding that has to be done, an annoying task unto itself. Take some of the back breaking labor out of gardening with the purchase of a Sun Joe Electric Garden Tiller and Cultivator. This particular cultivator is powered by a 6.5 amp electric motor that turns four steel blade tines to churn up the Earth. Those tines are capable of cutting a swath of Earth as wide as 14 inches and 7 inches deep.
The design of the rotary cultivator is also meant to ease the burden on gardeners. The wide set handles and light weight of the tiller, just 17 lbs, make it easier to handle. Don’t worry though, those wide set handles are collapsible for easy storage in a garage or shed. There are other tillers and cultivators on the market. Similar electric models with equal power are held in lower regard by users than the Sun Joe model however, thanks in large part to better design.
Online reviewers were generally pleased with the Sun Joe Electric Garden Cultivator, but even those who liked it found issues with the unit. Aside from faulty units, the major complaint from many reviewers was that the tiller was underpowered and couldn’t do the job in any hard soil.
The Positives
The Sun Joe Cultivator allows you to quickly and easily loosen dirt for effective planting. Garden cultivator has a powerful 6-1/2 amp motor and four angled steel blades. Power cultivator has a electric motor is easy to start, operate, and maintain. Well-balanced and weighs just 17 pounds, so it is easy to push and maneuver. Unique folding-handle design, it takes up minimal space in your garage.
The Negatives
Some felt the tiller was underpowered and couldn’t do the job in any hard soil. A few reports from users that the cord can get in the way.
So What’s The Scoop?
If you have a small garden or the need to do certain small jobs from time to time in a larger garden, the Sun Joe Electric Garden Tiller and Cultivator would be a good addition to your tool shed. That being said, it is not likely to prove a suitable substitute for a more powerful model.
