Morning Coffee Stays Hot In This Lightweight Nissan Thermos Flask
Last Updated on February 17, 2016 by Cassie Lyons
There is nothing better in the morning than a warm cup of coffee to boost your energy and heat your senses, but in most travel mugs that cup of coffee is luke-warm at best half-way through the morning commute. If you had the Thermos Nissan Briefcase Bottle you’d never have to deal with cold coffee again though, and its small enough to travel with you anywhere you go. The briefcase bottle from Thermos is constructed of stainless steel and features a vacuum insulation system. These two factors allow the Thermos flask to keep warm drinks hot for up to 12 hours, and can even keep cold drinks cool for as long as 24 hours.
The bottle’s vacuum insulation and easy to secure cap ensure that your liquids remain inside the bottle where they belong. A variety of travel mugs for cold and hot beverages are available on the market, but the Thermos Nissan model includes superior design features that set it apart from much of the competition. Despite a vast majority of online reviewers falling in love with the Thermos Nissan Stainless Steel Briefcase Bottle, other reviewers did note major flaws in their bottle.
The Positives
Keeps hot liquids warm for up to 12 hours and cold drinks cool for 24 hours. Made from stainless steel, the thermos is both durable and easy to care for. The lid easily twists on and off and features a leak-proof design. The briefcase bottle holds up to 34 ounces and is hand wash only. Light, compact briefcase thermos bottle from Nissan Thermos.
The Negatives
The two biggest complaints were of a terrible plastic smell emanating from the cup, and of a failure to keep warm liquids heated after just a few uses. A minor issue from one reviewer was that the shiny surface can dent easily and felt that the lid opening part was a little too narrow.
So What’s The Scoop?
Although drawbacks were noted by some reviewers, the experiences of the vast majority of reviewers suggests that this thermos flask is a great choice as your morning coffee companion.

Is this product stainless steel or glass on the side as well as the outside? Thanks.
Thanks for the question Jen. Unfortunately, there wasn’t specific information from the manufacturer’s description on the Amazon page about that specific question. We did do a quick word search on the product reviews and one reviewer said, “Does not appear to be lined, just stainless steel inside.”
To get a precise answer to your question though, I’d suggest contacting Thermos on their contact page or Twitter account.
The double-wall insulation keeps the coffee hot for HOURS on end. One trick I learned is that if you put boiling water in the mug for 5-10 Minutes prior to putting your coffee in, it will keep even longer, I’m talking upwards of 8 hours.
Thanks a great tip Bree! Thanks for sharing.
