Slice Meat More Efficiently With These Wusthof Steak Knives
Last Updated on August 28, 2019 by Cassie Lyons
Wusthof Steak Knives are the last word in knives, or that’s what I get from my research for this review. These knives aren’t made with some special steel no-one else knows about. Instead, they’re simply made of high-quality materials and are made with intricate precision that comes through from the handle all the way down the blade. Wusthof uses single layer steel for their knives, and they use a computerized system to get the blades sharper than any knife you can pick up at your local supermarket. The steak knives are supposed to be particularly good for cutting meat because of their curved, scimitar-like blade.
From the reviews, this is definitely true. Lots of people, it seems, end up using their knives to pare filets and work with raw meats during the preparation process because they’re just that good. These are nice-looking knives, too, which is important to consider when you’re buying steak knives for the table. Sure, they’re expensive, but they come with a long-term warranty. In all, they get five-star reviews and are a better value than other steak knife sets, such as the J.A. Henckels International 8-Piece Steak Knife Set.
The Positives
Pretty much everything. There are hardly any negative reviews to find on the Wusthof Steak Knives. Reviewers particularly like the long, non-serrated blade, the weight of the knives, and their overall sleek and superior look.
The Negatives
These knives only had one bad review that I could find, and that was from a couple who had already had them for four years. The handles on their knives began to crack, but Wusthof was quick to replace them, honoring the warranty on the knives. The reviewer speculated that they just got a set of lemons, since all their other Wusthof knives, bought at the same time, were still in excellent condition.
Of course, the price is another drawback for some would-be buyers. The thing is that steak knives can last a lifetime if you get the right set. So, pay $200 now, or pay $50 every two or three years for the next fifty years or so?
So What’s The Scoop?
This set of Wusthof steak knives seems to be a really excellent value for the money, and according to the reviews, they really do live up to everything the company claims – they’re extra sharp, great looking, and long-lasting. What’s not to love?
