BareMinerals Mineral Veil: One For Dry, Combination, and Oily Skin

Last Updated on September 22, 2018 by Cassie Lyons

BareMinerals Mineral Veil is a translucent finishing powder that comes in four different varieties: illuminating, tinted, original, and hydrating. The Illuminating Mineral Veil is translucent like the original, but doesn’t give off as much of a matte finish so it’s great for normal or combination skin. The Tinted Mineral Veil is sheer, yet has warmth in tone so it’s like adding a bit of bronzer to your finishing powder. Of course original is just a simple matte finishing powder, and hydrating has the same finishing effect as the original but is a better product for those with dry skin that experience flakiness when using powder. All of these products are used the same where they can be put right on top of a liquid or powder foundation to help keep your face in place all day, or you can use them by themselves just to soak up excess oils and give you a little more life to your appearance.

The Positives
The Mineral Veil products are great for sensitive skin! They’re free of synthetic fragrances and dyes, parabens and sulfates, and are pretty low key on filler ingredients. This product is also super easy to find at its own BareMinerals stores, Sephora, and Ulta. There are also some outlet BareMinerals stores where you can get them on bogo.

The Negatives
The price of this product is 22 dollars. Pricey? In my opinion, it is just a smidge too much. Even 18 dollars would be a fair price; however, it is definitely not the priciest finishing powder I’ve seen, so that is just a miniscule negative to the product, and truthfully, that is the only negative I could think of!

So What’s The Scoop?
BareMinerals Mineral Veil is a product I think everyone should try at least once. That is to say about the entire BareMinerals product line also, for some it is life changing and for others they find something better. But all in all it is a decently priced, decently working ensemble of products. The Mineral Veil is also a great first product for preteens as they reach an age where they want to start using makeup, it looks like a powder foundation, but won’t make your babies’ faces look like 30-year-olds.
