Watts Home Water Purifier Is A Five Stage Reverse Osmosis System
Last Updated on July 21, 2017 by Cassie Lyons
Are you looking for a way to cut down on the money you are spending on bottled water? Does the water from your tap have a funny taste? One way to remedy these situations is to use a water filtration system. The Watts WP5-50 Premier Five-Stage Manifold Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment System has a pre-filter, three post filters and an attached membrane. It has been NSF tested and certified. It comes with a three gallon tank and a water dispensing faucet to install at your sink. While the tank stores a great deal of water, it will take up quite a bit of room in the cabinet under the sink. The home water purifier filter system is fairly easy to install with the instructions.
As with any reverse osmosis system, it processes more water than it actually produces. One of the biggest complaints about this sink water purifier is the noise that is created when it processes the water. It does, however, provide fast production of good tasting water.
The Positives
Reverse osmosis water system offers a continuous supply of water. Manifold design provides seamless water path, eliminating 17 connections. Watts RO filters in five stages to ensure that your drinking is clean. Effectively removes arsenic, lead, perchlorate, chromium, copper and sodium. Countertop water purifier removes parasytic cysts and giardia.
The Negatives
This water purifier system can be louder that desired for some when it processes the water. Installation can take time for those less experienced in in home maintenance.
So What’s The Scoop?
The Watts Water Purifier uses approximately four gallons of water to make one gallon of filtered water. For a way to have bottled water taste without the cost, consider a filter system for your home.

I purchased the WP5-50 and went through three months of hell before throwing it in the trash! First, the hissing noise had to be solved by Watts sending me a bypass for the system. Thirty days later, the system quit. I paid someone to test my water pressure. I had Watts to send me a replacement shut off valve. Finally, I paid $18 to have it shipped back to Watts to be repaired and was told that I needed to replace all of the filters and the membraine because something in my water or the water pressure had clogged up the filters (it had only been in use 60 days). I am now waiting for the system to be mailed back to me so that I can put it in the trash. I will never buy a Watts product again in my life. $235 down the drain! (no pun intended)
Thanks for sharing your experience with the Watts WP5-50 water purifier OJ. Sorry to hear it performed so miserably for you and you had to pay for return shipping too. That’s certainly money down the drain!
