Revlon’s Dramatic Definition Mascara: Has Revlon Made a Comeback in Mascara?
Last Updated on August 17, 2016 by Cassie Lyons
Revlon’s Dramatic Definition Mascara is a dark brown/black mascara designed specifically for being non-clumping and defining each little lash. This mascara was released in a collection of five by Revlon that was meant as a way to personalize your mascara experience and cater to the specific needs your lashes need met. The dramatic definition mascara has the purple top and a slick, flattened shape to it. The color variety is limited to blackened brown or blackest black waterproof- I personally purchased the blackened brown variation.
The Positives
Overall I have a mixed opinion on this product! The price was decent, so I definitely would say that this is a viable option on a budget- along with the other four options. I’m glad they offered a waterproof option also, unfortunately I was in a hurry and didn’t pick that one out; however, I would possibly purchase that one to give it a try and see if it truly was resilient to my daily needs. But for this version, I would say the formula isn’t too flaky or clumpy and can definitely be applied twice for a decent look.
The Negatives
Now here’s where I have to dis this product, but just a little. Although it isn’t considered waterproof, so I give the benefit of the doubt, mascara still shouldn’t smudge this much! Also when doing two applications, it can get a little clumpy if you’re not careful with timing. Plus the aging of the product seems to really affect it, not even a month after purchase it seemed to dry in its container so the product sticks way too much to the wand and makes application a hassle. So does that really make the price a steal, even though you have to buy it more often?
So What’s The Scoop?
Revlon’s Dramatic Definition Mascara is a purple topped product that caters to those wanting to specifically define their lashes. There are two options in variation- blackened brown or blackest black waterproof- and I personally suggest picking the waterproof option due to the blackened brown’s issue with smudging. But overall I wouldn’t actually want to buy this product again, unless in an emergency or as a back-up. Preferably, I would stick to better options like the Better than Sex by Too Face and They’re Real! by Benefit.
